Wow - $4 a gallon!

I thought I'd post this just for the record. I'd like to think that gas prices would start to go down now that it's hit this high but unfortunately, I know better. That scooter I was looking at the other day is looking more and more tempting!

Motivational Thought for the Day

An optimist is a person who sees a green light everywhere.  The pessimist sees only the red light.  But the truly wise person is color blind.

Grocery Inventory

So, I'm just finishing up coming up with a list of all of the food that I currently own. It's amazing to me that I've managed to build up such a collection of food. The nice thing, is that almost all of it is stuff that I would use on a regular basis and now that I have a complete listing of it, I will start doing so. Anyway, for anyone curious, you can check out the list here.

Little duck

Its early Friday morning and this little duck was just sitting by the bushes this morning when I got to work. It watched closely to see if it needed to run but just hung out and watched what was going on.

Home....

We made it home to salt lake. I was a little worried that our plane was broken when we landed because we just chilled on the runway for a bit but there must have just been some congestion. Its good to be home but I don't want to go back to work :(

Oh well.

p.s.

Okay, I just had to throw in a couple more pictures. You know you can't pass up taking pictures of people sleeping! :) However, it's not around midnight here in Seattle and we need to be up in about 4 hours to ensure we are at the airport in time to catch our flight and get back to Salt Lake (I have a meeting at 10:00 am!) Time for me to jump in the shower and get ready to take a quick nap for a couple of hours.

Peace!

Wrapping things up

What a trip. I don't mean a trip like, I'm just coming off of acid and can't believe what my mind just went through, but more in the sense of, what a great weekend I've just had (excluding Saturday because I had to work about 12 hours on my Saturday!)

I'm really tired. We've driven a lot. We walked a lot today. I've taken quite a few pictures as you can see on my blog but there are still quite a few that aren't posted on here....yet. I have been able to see some friends of mine that I think of often and haven't been able to see in quite a while. I have loved seeing Seattle and taking in the beautiful scenery and appreciating all that this area has to offer. I've had the chance to see a hugely diverse sector of the population which, if you know me, is a great thrill for me.

However, more importantly, I've had the chance to spend some time with a couple of my sisters. This has been a great opportunity to get to know my sisters a little better and have some fun with them in and out of their element. We have spent SO much time in the car together Sunday, hung out some at Dianna's apartment, wandered around downtown Seattle together and learned what each other's opinions were on different merchants and goods that were being offered, played a little Dr. Mario (okay a lot but it's fun) and now, as they're both asleep, it's nice to feel the happiness of being with family. I feel very fortunate to have been blessed with a great family and I appreciate their patience with me and the opportunity to be patient with them (though I don't always appreciate it at the time!)

Thanks Melissa & Dianna for a fun couple of days! I can't wait to do something again soon and with Amanda this time!

One more update for Sunday

Less than 8 miles to go until we get to Dianna's. I am sure I'm okay to speak for all three of us when I say I am SO done riding in the car for a while!

Update

Its about 8:30 and we're approaching I-90.

Driving through the wine country was very impressive. From someone who doesn't drink, the asthetic appeal was incredible as we saw some vineyards that seemed to be perfectly pruned while there were plenty of others that weren't hardly cared for at all. The ones that were well kept had very defined branches and immaculate grounds and while it was appearent there was quite a bit of work involved to maintain that quality, it certainly paid off. It's easy to assume that those vineyards produce a high quality product and regardless of the actual fruit itself, one comparing the two vineyards would easily feel more comfortable purchasing product from a well kept vineyard than one not kept as well. Though its true that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, "a cover" can often be a good indicator of the fruit that will be or has been borne. May we all be a well kept vineyard and let our divine creator, whatever you may call him or her, prune our lives to reflect the fruit that we would like others to see, show forth bold and true!
